Govt high-risk warning for Samsung Galaxy phone user

The Indian government has warned the country’s Samsung Galaxyusers of a major threat and asked them to be alert from hackers. In fact, the security advisory team of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) under the Ministry of Information Technology has issued an alert of several vulnerabilities in Samsung Galaxy on December 13.

CERT-In team has pointed out many shortcomings in Samsung Galaxy devices.

The alert issued by the CERT-In team points to an importantsecurityfeature affecting Samsung Android. Which also includes Android versions 11, 12, 13 and 14. The alert asks to update Samsung Galaxy’s security features and Android OS.

In the report released by CERT-In team, many shortcomings have been mentioned in Samsung, which will pose a major risk to the users, hence they have been warned to keep their devices updated.

The team issued a category A warning saying that millions of new and old smartphones of Samsung Mobile’s Galaxy devices can become victims of hackers.CERT-In team has asked to update the operating system firmware of its Samsung Galaxy devices as soon as possible.

CERT-In team has pointed out many shortcomings in Samsung Galaxy devices.

CERT-Inin its notification issued has said that “Several shortcomings have been reported in Samsung products which a hacker could implement in the device.” 2>Can allow users to bypass securityfeatures, access sensitive information in the device, and execute arbitrary code or perform actions on the device.”

CERT-Inhas said that the SmartManagerCN component of the vulnerable OS in SamsungGalaxyAccess control is the reason for this shortcoming. The way to avoid this is to keep your Samsung Galaxy phone updated with timely security updates, as suggested by the company.
