While parts of Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, and Alwar saw some cloud cover in the afternoon, it provided little relief from the scorching weather.

Weather: Yellow Alert in Rajasthan

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more changes ahead. Starting Saturday, a fresh western disturbance is expected to impact the region. As a result, a yellow alert has been issued for 15 districts, warning of possible thunderstorms and winds blowing at 40–50 km/h. Light rain may also occur in places like Jaipur, Alwar, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Nagaur, Ajmer, and Tonk.

Looking ahead, the weather in western Rajasthan is likely to become even more intense. From April 27, an orange alert is in place for Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Jodhpur, where heatwave conditions are expected to persist for the next three to four days. Afternoon dust storms and temperatures climbing as high as 46°C are likely across these areas.

According to the Jaipur weather center, this heatwave is expected to last till April 30. People across the state—especially in western Rajasthan—are advised to avoid stepping out during peak heat hours and to stay hydrated.

As Rajasthan battles both heatwaves and dust storms, the next few days are likely to test the region’s endurance under increasingly extreme weather conditions.
