Vivah Muhurat: Key Wedding Dates for November-December and February

Patna: Following the conclusion of major festivals for Sanatan Dharma followers, the wedding season is set to recommence later this month. Auspicious wedding dates will start on November 18, marking the end of Chaturmas. However, couples planning winter weddings may have limited options: this year only offers 13 auspicious dates in November and December, according to traditional Hindu calendars. The Banarasi calendar identifies nine favorable dates in November and four in December. The Mithila calendar, prevalent in parts of Bihar, specifies seven auspicious dates in November and three in December. This total is fewer than last year’s 18 auspicious dates recorded across both calendars.

In 2022, the Banarasi calendar noted 12 auspicious dates during these two months, while the Mithila calendar indicated 13. In contrast, 2023 experienced an unusually high number, with the Banarasi system reporting 17 auspicious dates. Astrologers predict that the trend of fluctuating dates will persist. Despite the conclusion of Kharmas in January 2026, there will be no auspicious period for marriage that month due to the setting of Venus. The planet is expected to rise in the west at 6pm on February 1, after which weddings may continue. An astrologer emphasized that planetary harmony is crucial for marriage timing. “Marriage is regarded as the most sacred bond, making the selection of an auspicious muhurat vital,” he stated.

Favorable alignments of Jupiter, Venus, and the Sun are essential, with the conjunction of the Sun and Jupiter considered particularly favorable.
