The Iranian nationals have been identified as Hossein Rezaifard, Marmad Hossein Pirfalak and Abdol Salam.

After interrogating the accused, the police came to know that the three used to target foreign nationals who had come here for treatment.

The accused used to approach foreign nationals posing as police officers and ask them to check their purses to see if they were carrying any narcotics, after which they fled with the money in the wallet.

In this case, the accused also cheated the victim of 4300 (USD) and other documents. The victim told the police on January 15 that he was going to the guest house, when the three, posing as police officers, tricked him and fled from the spot.

ACP (ACP) Preet Pal Sangwan said, the accused were professional criminals and they committed three similar crimes in Delhi and Gurugram. They came to India 5/6 months back and committed the crime. The accused have been taken on police remand for further investigation.
