Gurugram, April 10 (). Gurugram Police has arrested three Iranian nationals who duped a Yemeni national by posing as policemen. The police gave this information on Monday.
National of Yemen visited India for treatment of his wife in Gurugram.
Police said the accused, who had come to India on valid visas, were arrested from Delhi on April 5 and taken on remand.
The Iranian nationals have been identified as Hossein Rezaifard, Marmad Hossein Pirfalak and Abdol Salam.
After interrogating the accused, the police came to know that the three used to target foreign nationals who had come here for treatment.
The accused used to approach foreign nationals posing as police officers and ask them to check their purses to see if they were carrying any narcotics, after which they fled with the money in the wallet.
In this case, the accused also cheated the victim of 4300 (USD) and other documents. The victim told the police on January 15 that he was going to the guest house, when the three, posing as police officers, tricked him and fled from the spot.
ACP (ACP) Preet Pal Sangwan said, the accused were professional criminals and they committed three similar crimes in Delhi and Gurugram. They came to India 5/6 months back and committed the crime. The accused have been taken on police remand for further investigation.
