New Delhi, March 30 (). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday accused the Congress of inviting foreign powers to interfere in the country’s internal affairs.
Sitharaman has hit out at the Congress following Germany’s reaction to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha after he was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison in a 2019 defamation case by a Surat court.
Commenting on Rahul Gandhi’s case, Germany has said that it is keeping an eye on the matter. Thanking Germany for its response on behalf of the Congress, senior party leader Digvijaya Singh tweeted, “Thanks to Germany’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Richard Walker for taking note of how India through Rahul Gandhi’s harassment.” Democracy is being compromised.
Sharing a screenshot of Singh’s message, the Finance Minister tweeted, “It is clear that Congress wants foreign interference in our internal affairs.” Be it signing an opaque MoU with the Communist Party of China or seeking foreign help to change the government during discussions abroad. Need any more proof now? Say thank you when help arrives.
