Sharmila allegedly slapped a woman police constable and pushed a male police officer outside her residence at Lotus Pond in Jubilee Hills. The police took them into custody and took them to the Jubilee Hills police station.

The video of the YSRTP leader arguing and scuffling with police personnel has gone viral on social media.

Though she is not clearly seen slapping the woman constable in the video, the woman policeman is seen holding her cheek.

The incident took place when the police stopped Sharmila from leaving her house to meet the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam paper leak case. He asked why he was being put under house arrest. He had an argument with the police officers regarding this matter. She sat on the road in front of her house as a protest.

When the police personnel tried to take him into custody, he resisted. Thereafter, while walking on the road, he vented his anger by shouting at the police and also had a scuffle with one of them.

Sharmila alleged that there is no democracy in Telangana. He asked whether he needed the court’s permission even to speak on people’s issues.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila said that Telangana Chief Minister KCR Y.S. Rajasekhara is scared of Reddy’s daughter.

The YSRTP leader said that if KCR was honest, he should order a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the paper leak.

Sharmila has been arrested by the police several times in recent months for leading protests. On one occasion, when Sharmila was going towards the Chief Minister’s residence to protest, the police pulled her car away while Sharmila was sitting inside the car.
