Bengaluru, April 28 (). Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will hold rallies and participate in various programs in North Karnataka on Friday.
The Congress is upbeat about its prospects in north Karnataka, considered a BJP bastion, after top BJP leaders including former chief minister Jagadish Shettar and former deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi joined the party.
Amit Shah, who has already held several meetings in the North Karnataka region, has given clear instructions to defeat Shettar. The BJP is worried about retaining the Lingayat vote bank as Shettar and Savadi have accused the BJP of disrespecting them. North Karnataka is considered the Lingayat heartland.
Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting at Jewargi in Kalaburagi district. He will participate in a dialogue program called Manila Dialogue at Kushtagi in Koppal district. He is doing mega road show in Ballari.
