Bengaluru, May 10 (). Former Prime Minister and veteran Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda arrived in a helicopter to cast his vote at Paduvalahippe village near Holenarasipura town in Karnataka’s Hassan district on Wednesday.
The chopper landed in the premises of a government college in Holenarasipur and he along with his wife Channamma reached the polling station in a car. According to media reports, 89-year-old Deve Gowda took the help of two assistants to enter the polling booth and exercise his franchise.
During the election campaign, Deve Gowda traveled across the state and appealed to the voters, especially the Vokkaliga community, to elect his son HD Kumaraswamy as CM, bringing the JDS to power. He participated in public rallies and addressed the public in a wheelchair during the election campaign.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy along with his family members reached the polling booth to cast his vote. During this, son Nikhil Kumaraswamy was also with him. Nikhil is the JDS candidate from Ramnagar seat.
He cast his vote at a polling booth in Ketiganahalli village near Bidadi town near Bengaluru. The results of the Karnataka assembly elections will come on May 13.
