New Delhi, May 24 (). With an active Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayan region, Delhi and its adjoining areas have brought respite to the people of many states of North India from the scorching heat. An official of the India Meteorological Department gave this information on Wednesday.
The IMD had earlier predicted respite from the heat from May 24 to May 27 under the influence of a western disturbance. According to the IMD, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorm in the national capital on Wednesday.
According to IMD officials, there will be a drop in the temperature. Apart from thunderstorm today and tomorrow, Delhi will be cloudy with drizzle on May 26 and 27 and the temperature will drop to 35 degree Celsius.
People of Delhi are facing severe heat wave. Seven of the 22 weather stations in the city recorded temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius. Notably, Najafgarh and other places recorded a maximum temperature of 46.7 degrees Celsius, crossing the 46-degree mark for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.
According to the IMD, the maximum temperature will drop to 36 degrees Celsius by Thursday as the Western Disturbance active in the western Himalayan region will bring rain, hailstorm and gusty winds over the northwestern plains beginning Wednesday.
