Jaipur, May 22 (). Everything is not going well in Rajasthan BJP. The infighting in the party came to the fore when former chief minister Vasundhara Raje remained absent from the Rajasthan BJP working committee meeting held at Ladnun in Nagaur district on Saturday.
All the big leaders including BJP in-charge, former state president, leader of opposition, deputy leader of opposition and union minister of the state were present in this meeting, but Raje did not turn up.
She has been attending all the working committee meetings in the past, even when things were reportedly not going well between her and former state president Satish Poonia.
However, the party underwent a change in the state leadership and since then the party has been trying to give a message of unity.
Political speculation has intensified after the absence of Vasundhara Raje in this working committee. The programs for the next three months have been decided in the meeting and it was agreed upon which should be made an election issue. In such a situation, Raje’s absence is being discussed in this important meeting, while Raje had come to Nagaur district a few days ago and had also addressed a meeting there.
Meanwhile, factionalism also came to the fore after the return of former Union Minister Subhash Maharia to the BJP. He had joined the Congress after being denied a ticket from the BJP in the last parliamentary elections. However, he has made a comeback recently and is expected to be fielded against state Congress president Govind Dotasara.
While the BJP warmly welcomed Mahariya, Sikar MP Sumedhanand Saraswati said, people keep coming and going, whether it is 100 quintals of grain or a handful of chana, it will not make any difference. Mahariya has lost two out of three elections due to his indiscipline.
Meanwhile, Raje was also absent during Mahariya’s homecoming ceremony.
While sources said that he was not invited. A phone call to Raje’s office did not elicit any response.
The party is trying its best to show unity by changing the leadership in the state, but the situation is not so good.
Six months before the assembly elections, factionalism in the party raises many questions, that too at a time when the party has lost in Karnataka and Himachal as well.
While party leaders claim that Raje was absent due to personal reasons, other leaders confirmed that she was meeting the public at her personal events. Recently his program in Nagaur was a big hit.
