Patna, April 25 (). The Law Department of Bihar on Monday in Muzaffarpur, in 1994 IAS officer G. List of prisoners to be released on exemption, including Bahubali leader Anand Mohan Singh, who is serving life sentence in Krishnaya’s lynching case, was released.
Anand Mohan’s name was on the 11th position in the list. He is currently on parole for the marriage of his son and RJD MLA Chetan Anand.
The former MP, who has served 14 years in jail for murder, is to be released on grounds of good behaviour. With this, he will return to jail on April 25 to complete the formalities and will finally come out on April 26.
Krishnaya, the then District Magistrate of Gopalganj, was killed when his car was attacked and beaten to death by his supporters who were taking the body of underworld don Chhotan Shukla to the crematorium.
A trial court sentenced the Bahubali leader to death, but he appealed to the Patna High Court, which commuted the death sentence to life imprisonment. He also appealed to the Supreme Court but it upheld the High Court’s decision.
Besides Anand Mohan, 26 more people were set for release, including another Bahubali leader Raj Ballabh Yadav, who is serving a jail term in a rape case.
