Apple has broadened its consumer protection offerings in India by launching new AppleCare+ plans, which include theft-and-loss coverage that promises users a replacement iPhone if their device is lost or stolen. This initiative provides Indian customers with a long-awaited alternative to third-party insurance. The revised plan allows users to file two claims annually for theft or loss. It starts at ₹799 per month, with an annual premium for theft-and-loss protection set at ₹9,588. If an iPhone is lost or stolen, Apple will provide a replacement, provided the user is enrolled in the plan. AppleCare+ serves as Apple’s official protection service, extending warranty support to the iPhone, Mac, iPad, Watch, Display, Apple TV, HomePod, and Apple headphones.
The subscription covers technical assistance, hardware repairs, accidental damage, and battery replacement when its capacity falls below the approved level. For years, Indian iPhone users depended on third-party insurers for theft and loss coverage, often encountering complicated claims processes and inconsistent protection. Apple’s new policy seeks to address these issues by providing a more seamless and reliable option within its ecosystem. The plan is applicable to all iPhone models, from the iPhone 13 series to the latest iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone SE. In addition to theft and loss, AppleCare+ offers unlimited accidental damage repairs using authentic Apple parts.
Services can be accessed at Apple’s four retail locations in Mumbai (BKC), Delhi (Saket), Bengaluru (Hebbal), and Pune (Koregaon Park), or through authorized service providers nationwide. Customers can find service centers using the Apple Support app, online Support Finder, or the Apple website. Eligibility for AppleCare+ can be verified directly through the Settings app on any iPhone, iPad, or Mac, allowing users to view available plans, pricing, and subscribe instantly through Apple’s support website.
