Jaipur, May 9 (). Former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot said on Tuesday that the leader of Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot was not Sonia Gandhi, but Vasundhara Raje of the BJP.
He said, this fact has become clear from the Chief Minister’s speech in Dholpur day before yesterday.
Pilot questioned Gehlot’s statement, in which he praised BJP leaders, but tarnished the image of the party’s own MPs and MLAs.
On Sunday, Gehlot said that former CM Vasundhara Raje and two BJP leaders Kailash Meghwal and Shobrani Kushwaha helped save his government.
On Gehlot’s statement, Pilot said, Gehlot should tell why his statement has two faces. If he says that BJP was trying to topple the government and on the other hand he says that Raje was trying to save his government, then what does he want to say.
Pilot held a press conference at his residence on Tuesday.
He said he wondered why no action was taken against the alleged corruption during Raje’s tenure. He said that after Gehlot’s Dholpur address, it has become clear why action was not taken against such corrupt people.
Pilot said, for the first time I am seeing that someone is criticizing the MPs and MLAs of his own party. The praise of BJP leaders and the insult of Congress leaders is beyond my understanding. This is totally wrong.
He said, from the words of the Chief Minister, it seems that their leader is Vasundhara Raje and not Sonia Gandhi.
Surprisingly, Pilot has called a press conference when Rahul Gandhi has reached Mount Abu to attend Congress’s Sarvodayi training camp.
Pilot said, we had gone to Delhi and shared our concerns with the high command. Also, I wrote letters for several months on the issue of corruption in Vasundharaji’s rule. I also went on a fast for a day. But no action was taken on any of our demands. I understand why action was not taken. Now I am disappointed. The public is God. Everyone has to bow down before the public. That’s why we will take out a march (Jan Sangharsh Yatra) from Ajmer to Jaipur on May 11 against corruption. It will be a 125 km long journey and will take five days.
We will go to people and raise issues of youth including paper leak. The role of RPSC officials was found in the paper leak case. Its headquarter is in Ajmer. Hence Ajmer has been chosen for the yatra.
He said, this yatra is not against any one, but against corruption. We will try to be the voice of the people through this journey.
He said, we were accused of sedition, but after that a committee was formed under the leadership of Ahmed Patel and later a roadmap was prepared. After this we all worked to strengthen the Congress. I was called a traitor and nikamma (useless), but we continued to work to strengthen the party.
Responding to a question on Gehlot’s allegations of luring some MLAs with Rs 10 crore to Rs 20 crore, he said, “I have been hearing such allegations for the last three years, if they want to take action, take action.” Why is it getting delayed?
Some people are trying to weaken the Congress, but we will not let them succeed in their endeavour, he said.
Gehlot on Sunday accused the MLAs of the Pilot camp in Dholpur of taking a bribe of Rs 10 to 20 crore during the political crisis. Gehlot also advised the MLAs to return Amit Shah’s money.
Sachin Pilot is constantly raising the issue of no action being taken against the corrupt under the BJP rule.
