Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), 20 April (). A three-member judicial commission set up to probe the April 15 killings of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf on Thursday reached Colvin Hospital, where the incident took place.
The judicial commission is headed by retired Justice A.K. Tripathi and members (Retd IPS Subesh Kumar Singh and Retd Justice Brijesh Kumar Soni) inspected the spot.
The entire area was cordoned off.
Members of the judicial commission questioned police officers about the number of policemen present at the scene of the murder.
A map of the crime scene was also prepared.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) had earlier on Thursday also reached Colvin Hospital where gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were killed.
According to sources, the SIT had reached there for crime scene recreation, but since the judicial commission was also about to arrive, the crime scene recreation was called off.
A team of forensic experts also came along with the SIT.
Meanwhile, the assailants (Lovelesh Tiwari, Sunny and Arun Maurya) stick to their stand that they committed the murders only to make a name for themselves in the underworld.
The biggest task now before the investigating agencies is to trace the handlers of the three attackers.
The assailants have not yet disclosed who provided them with the firearms (Jigana pistol worth around Rs 7 lakh).
