Nagpur, April 25 (). Amid political turmoil in Maharashtra, a banner projecting BJP Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as the future Chief Minister suddenly caught the attention of the people on Tuesday.
The banner allegedly put up by his supporters depicts former CM Fadnavis as the future CM, though the real reasons behind it are not clear.
Unfazed by the sudden promotion, Fadnavis, who is currently campaigning in Karnataka, immediately told media persons that if it is so, then tear it up. He also reiterated that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde would continue in his post till 2024 (when elections will be held in Maharashtra).
Fadnavis’ comments came at a time when Shinde reportedly went on a three-day leave to his home town Satara on Monday in a fit of rage. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) national spokesperson Clyde Crasto speculated that Shinde may be upset as the BJP wants to replace his role with Fadnavis.
On the other hand, Shiv Sena’s (UBT) national spokesperson Kishor Tiwari said Shinde probably knows his time has come and may be preparing to pack up, while Fadnavis will leave for Mauritius later this week. Are preparing for.
A heated debate also took place amid reports that how, lured by the alleged offer of the CM’s post, NCP leader Ajit Pawar is planning to join the BJP along with some 38 MLAs. However, top NCP leaders ranging from his uncle Sharad Pawar, cousin Supriya Sule, state party chief Jayant Patil and others have rubbished all such speculations on Ajit Pawar.
In Maharashtra, posters of the future chief minister have become quite the norm in recent months. In March, Raj Thackeray, president of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, a party with one MLA, was anointed as the state’s Hindu Jannayak and future chief minister in the minds of the people.
Earlier, there were posters/banners of top NCP leaders like Ajit Pawar, Sule and Patil with the future CM tag, and before that Shiv Sena (UBT) president and former CM Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aditya Thackeray was also named as the future CM. Seen with banner.
