Patna: Winter is becoming more apparent throughout Bihar, with a notable chill increasing as November ends. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) indicates that morning and evening temperatures in Patna and other regions are likely to decrease by one to two degrees Celsius in the next two days. A low-pressure system over the South Andaman Sea is expected to affect Bihar’s weather by November 27–28, resulting in light cloud cover and variable temperatures. The IMD forecasts a more significant decrease in temperatures starting after November 24. Fog has already begun to interfere with transportation, causing delays for approximately 10 trains in the state, with services to Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata being particularly impacted.
Weather analysts predict that daytime temperatures will remain mostly steady for the next three to four days, with mild sunshine providing some respite. However, nighttime temperatures are anticipated to keep declining. Cold weather is expected to fully establish itself across numerous districts from November 27–28, though temperature fluctuations may continue. Afternoon sunlight will alleviate the chill somewhat, but mornings and evenings will become markedly colder as northwesterly winds gain strength. Minimum temperatures in various districts may decrease by 2–4°C as dry, cold winds sweep through the area, enhancing the wintry atmosphere. On Saturday, Gaya recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 13.2°C, while Forbesganj reached a high of 30.4°C.
Fog is expected to become denser in the coming days, which may impair visibility and complicate travel during early morning hours.
