Patna: In a significant development for travelers to Delhi, the East Central Railway (ECR) has unveiled five special trains originating from different stations in Bihar. Set for 18 November, these services are designed to accommodate the rising passenger volume and the persistent shortage of reserved tickets. Railway officials indicated that this initiative is part of a larger strategy to facilitate smoother travel and alleviate crowding during peak season. Hasanpur Road–New Delhi Special (Train 04097) is scheduled to leave Hasanpur Road at 15:00 on 18 November. The route includes Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Bapudham Motihari, Sugauli, Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Gorakhpur, Aishbagh, Kanpur Central, and ends at New Delhi with 3E coaches.
Darbhanga–New Delhi Special (Train 02569) will depart at 06:30 from Darbhanga, traveling through Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Chhapra, Siwan, Gorakhpur, Aishbagh, Kanpur Central, concluding at New Delhi, with 3E, 3A, and Sleeper coaches. Additionally, the Darbhanga–New Delhi Evening Special (Train 04449) will leave at 18:15 from Darbhanga, covering Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Chhapra, Siwan, Gorakhpur, Aishbagh, Kanpur Central, and reach New Delhi with Sleeper and General coaches. Sitamarhi–Anand Vihar Special (Train 04015) departs at 16:30 from Sitamarhi, with a route that includes Bairgania, Raxaul, Sikta, Narkatiaganj, Harinagar, Bagaha, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Bareilly, Moradabad, and ends at Anand Vihar Terminal, featuring 2A, 3A, Sleeper, and General coaches.
Lastly, Purnia Court–Anand Vihar Special (Train 05579) will leave at 16:30 from Purnia, passing through Banmankhi, Murliganj, Dauram Madhepura, Saharsa, Supaul, Saraigarh, Nirmali, Jhanjharpur, Sakri, Janakpur Road, Sitamarhi, Bairgania, Raxaul, Sikta, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, and arriving at Anand Vihar Terminal with mixed categories for long-distance passengers. Officials reiterated that these trains will considerably alleviate pressure on existing routes and enhance comfort for those traveling to the capital. Additional special services may be introduced based on demand.
