He said that senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, advocating the release of Anand Mohan, said that if the convicts of the murder of former PM Rajiv Gandhi can be released, then what is the problem in releasing Anand Mohan .

Chaudhary said- The state government has the power of exemption. It has been giving discounts on Republic Day and Independence Day in the past. In other states, there is no provision in the jail manual for an accused convicted of murder of a public servant. Therefore, the Government of Bihar has removed it.

He said- Sushil Modi had given a statement for the release of Anand Mohan. He also said that if Rajiv Gandhi’s killers could be released, then why not Anand Mohan. When the state government released Anand Mohan, he said that the decision of the state government is not correct and it is an anti-Dalit decision. This incident has actually shown the double character of BJP.

He said- If any other prisoner had been released from jail in place of Anand Mohan, he would not have even got a clue about it. Anand Mohan is a big leader, he also has a political party. His wife was an MP, his son is an MLA. Hence, BJP is making hue and cry on this issue.
