Patna: The Bihar administration has bolstered the security for Vijay Kumar Sinha, the BJP MLA from Lakhisarai and the state’s deputy chief minister, after an incident during the assembly elections where his vehicle was targeted at a polling booth. Sinha, who faced an attack and had cow dung thrown at his car while visiting a polling station, will now be traveling in a bulletproof Fortuner provided by the state. This incident led to a political stir, prompting a review of his security arrangements. Previously, Sinha had expressed concerns regarding the poor condition of his former official vehicle, which frequently broke down. Following his re-election, the government upgraded his vehicle to a bulletproof model as part of enhanced security measures.
He also alleged negligence by police officers and security personnel present at the polling site in Lakhisarai during the attack. In addition to the new vehicle, the government has made adjustments to his security staff. With a significant victory in the assembly, Sinha now enjoys increased protection in light of the election-day incident.
