In light of a public dispute within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) following its electoral loss, Nikhil Anand, a BJP Yadav leader, has called on Rohini Acharya and Misa Bharti, daughters of RJD founder Lalu Prasad, to take charge of the party. This controversy arose after criticism directed at Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Lalu’s son and RJD president, regarding his management of the party and his alleged failure to maintain family unity. Rohini recently claimed she was assaulted and verbally attacked at Rabri Devi’s home after pointing to Sanjay Yadav as a contributing factor to the party’s defeat. In a public statement, Rohini expressed that her parents and sisters stood with her and shared her distress during the incident.
Nikhil Anand, who previously lost the 2020 Maner assembly election to RJD MLA Bhai Virendra, addressed the situation on social media. He expressed his sadness over Rohini’s situation, praising her bravery for donating a kidney to her father, and lamented her distancing from the family and politics. He urged both Rohini and Misa to step up as Lalu Prasad’s true political heirs, criticizing Tejashwi Yadav’s failure to lead the party and maintain family cohesion. Anand also questioned the silence of other family members, including Misa, suggesting that Lalu and Rabri appeared helpless amid the turmoil. He implied that Tejashwi’s actions might have intimidated others and criticized the passivity of remaining family members during this crisis, labeling it morally unacceptable.
