Jaipur, April 25 (). The central leadership of the BJP has once again given a huge responsibility to the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan, Satish Poonia, to campaign for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections.
Amidst reports of infighting in the state party organisation, CP Joshi was recently made BJP state president in place of Poonia. Since then speculations were rife about his next role in the party.
Within days of being removed from the post of party president, Poonia was made the deputy leader of the opposition under pressure from the central leadership.
Satish Poonia said many times, I am a disciplined soldier of the party, I am ready to fulfill whatever responsibility will be given to me.
Meanwhile, calling Poonia to Karnataka to campaign for the assembly polls has left party workers puzzled as he is the only leader from the state to be deputed for the task.
Party sources said Poonia will be there for 20-21 days during the assembly elections in Karnataka. He is handling the election campaign and election management for the rural assembly seats in Bengaluru.
In fact, when the BJP President was changed in Rajasthan, Congress MLA and Chief Deputy Whip Mahendra Chaudhary released a video saying that 70 percent of the farmers of Rajasthan are angry with Poonia being replaced.
That’s why the BJP has made Poonia the deputy leader of the opposition.
Now once again the central leadership of BJP has reposed faith in Satish Poonia by choosing him to campaign in farmer-OBC dominated seats and migrant Rajasthani dominated seats in Karnataka.
Earlier, Poonia has also campaigned in Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab assembly elections. This time also BJP National President JP Nadda and National General Secretary (Organization) B.L. He has been entrusted with the responsibility under the leadership of Santosh.
Meanwhile, all eyes are now on what will be his next role in the state after the Karnataka elections. Assembly elections are to be held in Rajasthan in December 2023.
