Chennai, May 9 (). With a cabinet reshuffle on the cards in Tamil Nadu, high profile finance minister PTR Thiagarajan is likely to be stripped of the finance portfolio.
He is likely to be given a minor portfolio.
Significantly, an audio clip of Thiagarajan had gone viral in which he spoke against Chief Minister’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin and his son-in-law Sabarisan.
In the audio clip, the speaker was also saying that both were involved in siphoning off huge funds after the Stalin government came to power.
Thiagarajan had met Chief Minister Stalin at his Alwarpet residence a week ago. However, DMK sources told that Stalin was not always happy with PTR’s performance and his attitude towards fellow ministers.
PTR is likely to be replaced by state Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu, who is considered a favorite of the chief minister.
Tamil Nadu Dairy Development Minister SM Nasser is likely to be dropped along with Adi Dravidian Minister, Kayalviji Selvaraj. Selvaraj is likely to be replaced by Manamadurai MLA Tamizharsi.
Mannargudi MLA TRBA Raja, who is the son of senior DMK leader TR Balu, is likely to feature in the cabinet reshuffle. State Tourism Minister Ramachandran is all set to be dropped from the cabinet.
Chief Minister Stalin has already openly said that the poorly performing ministers will be dropped from the cabinet and replaced by new ones.
There is a possibility of reshuffle in the cabinet by the end of the month after the return of the Chief Minister from foreign tour.
