New Delhi, May 20 (). Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said the central government is challenging the Supreme Court by bringing an ordinance to overturn its verdict on service matters.
The AAP leader termed the ordinance relating to transfers and appointments of officers as a direct contempt of the Supreme Court order.
He also appealed to the opposition parties to ensure that the bill is not passed in the Rajya Sabha.
Addressing a press conference here on the issue, Kejriwal said, they were waiting for the Supreme Court to close for summer vacations. They waited because they know this ordinance is illegal.
Criticizing the BJP, he said, they know that their argument will not last five minutes in the court. When the Supreme Court opens on July 1, we will challenge it.
He said that the ordinance on service matters is an attack on the federal structure.
The Chief Minister also said that soon a big rally would be held in Delhi.
“The kind of reactions coming from the people, I think the BJP will not get even a single seat out of the seven seats in the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year,” he said.
He further said that AAP got thrice in Delhi assembly elections and once in MCD elections with thrice majority.

In 2015 they brought notification and then they brought a law in 2021 and took away the powers from us.
It is a cruel joke on democracy and the two crore people of Delhi, he said. The Center overturned the Supreme Court’s decision within a week. The Center is openly challenging the Supreme Court. This is a direct contempt of the Supreme Court and an insult to its majesty.
