Rishikesh, 20 April (). Passengers reaching Uttarakhand for Chardham Yatra will also have the facility of charging electric vehicles. For this, an electric charging station has been opened at Rishikesh, the entrance gate of Chardham Yatra. For this, the first electric charging station has been set up in Rishikesh in collaboration with SEWA THDC. The station will also be inaugurated along with the launch of Chardham Yatra. Till now this facility was available only in Haridwar and Dehradun.
Let us tell you that under environmental protection, THDC India Limited’s social work related unit service THDC is setting up charging stations to promote electric vehicles across the state. Till now this facility was available for the people using electric vehicles in Haridwar and Dehradun, but now the charging facility will be available to the passengers coming with electric vehicles in Rishikesh, the gateway of Chardham Yatra.
Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a unit of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has installed a charging station at Chardham Yatra Transit and Registration Center with financial support from SEWA-THDC. Not only Chardham Yatris, but common people will also be able to charge vehicles from this station. A total of twenty three and a half lakh rupees have been spent by SEVA – THDC on setting up the charging station.
EESL State Head Rahul Singh said that the construction and operation of the electric vehicle charging station has been entrusted. The station has been set up. UPCL connection has also been taken for the station. With the commencement of the journey, electric vehicle riders will be able to avail the facility of charging from here.
Electric cars and other small vehicles can be charged here in just an hour at the modern station. With the opening of the charging station, the tourists as well as the passengers arriving with electric vehicles from every corner of the country will be facilitated. In just Rs 9.58, one unit will have to be paid for charging by the concerned car rider consumer. Consumers will also be able to make this payment through the online app Electricify app. The app also has the facility to book slots for charging.
