Kolkata, April 19 (). West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday strongly denied the claims of Shubhendu Adhikari, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. The claim was that the CM called Union Home Minister Amit Shah and requested him to ask the Election Commission to withdraw the national party status of the Trinamool Congress.
However, Banerjee did not name the officer even once. Talking to media persons at the state secretariat, he said- I have heard that on Tuesday a new person claimed in a public meeting that after the Election Commission took back the national party status of Trinamool Congress, I saw their supreme leader Amit Shah four times. Had phoned If they can prove it, I will resign from the post of Chief Minister. But if he cannot prove these allegations, will he keep rubbing his nose on the ground?
He raised a question whether this wrong message was deliberately given because of his demand for the resignation of Amit Shah as Home Minister, who had said that if the BJP wins 35 of the 42 seats in West Bengal in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, But if it wins, the current state government will fall before 2025.
Banerjee said- It is true that I demanded his resignation because his behavior as the Union Home Minister was not in line with his position. His comments were contrary to the federal democratic system of the country. Therefore, I demanded his resignation. BJP always gives wrong message to people about Trinamool Congress.
Adhikari, while addressing a rally at Singur in Hooghly district on Tuesday, claimed that soon after the Election Commission announced the withdrawal of national party status from Trinamool, Banerjee allowed Amit Shah to retain national party status till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. appealed to keep
Banerjee also said on Wednesday that the name of her party would remain All India Trinamool Congress. He said, BJP can influence the Election Commission. But the name of our party will remain the same.
