Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami today spearheaded the public awareness initiative ‘Adopt Swadeshi, Take the Nation Forward’ at Paltan Bazaar, Dehradun. He encouraged local merchants, voluntary organizations, and citizens to prioritize the use of Swadeshi products. The Chief Minister emphasized that this campaign is a significant step towards fulfilling Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and promoting local products to every citizen. He remarked that prioritizing goods made in India bolsters both the national economy and local job creation. According to the Chief Minister, adopting Swadeshi is not just an economic choice but a national responsibility.
By embracing the Prime Minister’s mantra, “Adopt Swadeshi, Make the Nation Strong,” we can fortify the Indian economy and empower local producers, artisans, and small business owners to achieve self-reliance. CM Dhami urged merchants to showcase Swadeshi nameplates in their stores to foster consumer trust and pride in domestically produced goods.
He added that “By choosing Swadeshi products, not only will our money stay within the country, but India will also emerge more robust on the global stage.” During the event, the Chief Minister visited shops in Paltan Bazaar and affixed stickers bearing the message “Adopt Swadeshi, Strengthen the Nation.” He encouraged people to prioritize Swadeshi options during festivals, gift-giving, and daily use, stating that this initiative would inspire cultural pride and reinforce the commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat. Numerous public representatives, trader association leaders, voluntary organizations, and citizens committed to adopting Swadeshi and supporting the Chief Minister’s vision for a self-reliant India.
Local youth, merchants, and social groups actively participated, with the crowd enthusiastically chanting slogans of “Adopt Swadeshi – Save the Nation.” The event was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Shri Mahendra Bhatt, along with numerous public representatives, local residents, merchants, and businesspeople.
