Bengaluru, June 5 (). Karnataka Congress is considering setting up a Peaceful Karnataka helpline to fight against communal forces and ensure law and order in the society.
This plan comes after the BJP’s recent announcement of setting up a 24-hour helpline for its workers allegedly harassed by the Congress government in the state.
Medium and Heavy Industries Minister M.B. Patil on Monday Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara and RDPR minister Priyank Kharge to consider setting up a new helpline called Peaceful Karnataka.
He said that this helpline is needed to ensure that no hatred is being spread in Karnataka, and to keep a tab on any such incidents.
Our agenda is only development and progress, and to protect Brand Karnataka, Patil explained.
Bengaluru South MP and BJP Yuva Morcha president Tejashwi Surya on June 3 said that he would soon launch a helpline for BJP workers in the state.
Tejashwi Surya said, it has come to our notice that BJP workers in the state are being targeted and false cases are filed against them and threats are issued to them. We have a team of advocates ready to fight the legal battle to save our workers from the legal atrocities of the Congress government in the state.
Meanwhile, right-wing activist Chakraborty Sulibele challenged Patil, who warned him that he would be behind bars if any attempt was made to disturb the peace.
If you have decided to send me to jail, you are welcome. We will carry forward our struggle. It is unfortunate that those who become ministers are not aware of the subject matter and lack knowledge.
