On Tuesday morning, two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) schools in Delhi caused alarm after receiving bomb threat emails, prompting immediate emergency protocols and a coordinated response from police and fire services. The threats, which were sent around 9 a.m., targeted schools in Prashant Vihar and Dwarka, both attended by hundreds of students. Upon receiving the alerts, school authorities quickly notified law enforcement, adhering to established safety procedures. Students and staff were relocated to safe areas while Delhi Police, bomb disposal squads, and Delhi Fire Services arrived on-site to conduct thorough inspections. Over the course of several hours, teams systematically examined classrooms, playgrounds, vehicles, and nearby areas.
Sniffer dogs and bomb detection equipment were utilized as part of the standard protocol for such high-risk alerts. After completing their searches, officials confirmed that no suspicious items or materials were discovered, ultimately categorizing the threats as hoaxes. A senior police officer indicated that the emails seemed to be part of a trend of false threats that numerous schools across the city have faced in recent months. This incident heightened anxiety among parents, as over 100 schools in Delhi have received similar hoax threats recently. Authorities are continuing to investigate the origins of these emails and are looking into possible connections between the cases.
Police have urged the public to remain calm while ensuring that every threat, whether real or fabricated, will be taken seriously to safeguard student safety. Cyber units are currently analyzing the emails to determine their source. The schools returned to normal operations after the all-clear, although security measures have been increased as a precaution.
