Panaji, May 14 (). The Congress said on Saturday that BJP’s Goa in-charge C.T. Ravi, who was the mastermind of the last two defection incidents in Goa, has been shown the door by the people of Karnataka, holding them responsible for the murder of democracy.
Karnataka assembly election results were declared on Saturday, Congress candidate H.D. Thamayya has won by a margin of 5,926 votes.
Addressing a press conference here, Goa Congress President Amit Patkar said, CT Ravi was the mastermind behind the last two defections in Goa. He was the one who went ahead with the defection episode, and today the people of Karnataka have thrown him out. The people of Karnataka have shown that the killers of democracy must be removed.
Patkar also praised Rahul Gandhi for his efforts to unite the people of Karnataka through the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Rahul Gandhi’s efforts to unite the people of Karnataka have been reflected in the results, Patkar said. Bharat Jodo Yatra had passed through 51 constituencies and we have won most of them. People have shown their strength by defeating the killers of democracy.
He said, in a democracy, the power of the people is supreme.
