New Delhi, April 17 (). A one-day special session of the Delhi Assembly was called on Monday. During this special session, the Chief Minister made several indirect attacks on the Central Government. He referred to demonetisation and laws made for farmers and then withdrawn. Kejriwal made scathing attacks on the Center through a story and praised himself and his government through this story.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told in his story told inside the assembly that demonetisation did not bring any benefit, on the contrary, the countrymen had to face many problems. The Chief Minister said that demonetisation was done suddenly overnight, due to which businessmen suffered losses, people came on the streets. Due to this people had to stand in long queues, industries across the country were affected. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also mentioned 3 farmer laws. The Chief Minister said that thousands of farmers protested against these farmer laws and during this hundreds of farmers lost their lives.
Ahead of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s speech, members of the Aam Aadmi Party have said that it was an insult to the House to object to the calling of an assembly session by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Assembly Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birlan said that this is an attempt to lower the prestige and power of the House. He has decided to refer the matter to the Delhi Vidhan Sabha Privileges Committee. According to Birlan, the Committee of Privileges should see whether the Lieutenant Governor should be called in the matter.
At the same time, the MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party said that Delhi is becoming unprecedented. Here the Central Government is misusing the investigating agencies like ED-CBI to destabilize the State Government and arrest the Chief Minister on irrational grounds.
On the other hand, the BJP MLAs tried to corner the Delhi government on the issue of corruption. He said that the Chief Minister says that he is alleging misuse of ED and CBI. He said that if the former ministers of the Delhi government, who are implicated in corruption charges, are innocent, then why the courts do not grant bail to Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, the opposition legislators asked the ruling party whether the courts are also biased.
BJP MLAs said that an attempt is being made to influence the investigating agencies by calling this one-day session. The purpose of calling this session is to put pressure on the central investigative agencies.
