A powerful explosion in Delhi on Monday evening has resulted in 12 fatalities, including a young man from Bihar, marking one of the city’s deadliest recent attacks. The blast occurred near a traffic signal close to the Red Fort Metro Station, according to police reports. Among the deceased was 22-year-old Pankaj Sahni, a cab driver from Samastipur district in Bihar. Sahni was en route to drop a relative at the station when his vehicle was caught in the explosion. His grandfather reportedly last communicated with him around 4:30 pm. Sahni was the son of Rambalak Sahni from Hasanpur Fatehpur, Ward No. 7, in the Khanpur police station area. His family is now in mourning.
Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, calling it “deeply tragic.” He extended prayers for the bereaved families and wished for a swift recovery for the injured. Police are currently investigating the cause of the blast and have urged the public to stay vigilant following the incident.
