New Delhi, April 30 (). The Delhi Police on Sunday provided security to all the seven women wrestlers who lodged a complaint against Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The Supreme Court had asked the Delhi Police to provide proper security to the victims who accused Singh.
Delhi Police has also called upon all women wrestlers to join the investigation and record their statements under 161 CrPC, to decide the future course of action.
Sources said that in a day or two, women wrestlers can come to Delhi Police’s Connaught Place police station and record their statement.
On Saturday, a copy of one of the two FIRs lodged against Singh was handed over to top wrestlers, who are protesting at Jantar Mantar here.
Police said that though the copy of the FIR registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act has not been given to the wrestlers, it will be handed over to the victim’s family.
A senior police officer said they would soon record the statements of the victims.
Responding to the allegations leveled by the women wrestlers, the police on Friday evening registered an FIR against the WFI president.
