Patna, June 2 (). JDU MP from Bihar’s Sitamarhi Lok Sabha seat Sunil Kumar Pintu lodged an FIR against unknown people at Shastri Nagar police station in Patna on Friday after receiving several extortion calls.
The MP claimed that the callers demanded Rs 2 crore from him. Threatened to upload pictures and videos on social networking platform if money is not paid.
“I have received extortion calls from three different mobile phone numbers – 8709315423, 7856005589 and plus9778821146528 – in the last 10 days,” he said. I strongly believe that there are many people involved in the gang who are doing extortion. One of the callers was a woman who introduced herself as Pooja Kumari.
Pintu further claimed that his social media account was also hacked and his picture on the site was morphed.
A police officer from Shastri Nagar police station said, preliminary investigation suggests that the calls were made from outside Bihar and could be the handiwork of cyber fraudsters. They might be using internet calling facilities to threaten them. We are trying to trace the place with the help of mobile tower location. We are taking the help of cyber crime experts and EOU to solve the matter.
Sunil Kumar Pintu’s Facebook profile was hacked last year as well and the location of the hacker was found to be in Indonesia.
