New Delhi, March 30 (). The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly supplying illegal weapons to criminals in the national capital. An official gave this information on Thursday.
Police said they have also recovered five country-made pistols along with eight rounds of ammunition. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Sagir, a resident of Old Seelampur.
Sagir runs a restaurant (dhaba) in Old Seelampur area of Delhi.
Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav said specific inputs were received regarding Sagir supplying arms.
Special CP said, a raid was conducted in the area of Old Seelampur and Sagir was arrested when he was planning to sell illegal firearms and ammunition.
During interrogation, it was found that Sagir, a resident of Khurja, Uttar Pradesh, Mohd. Used to buy weapons from Amir.
Sagir used to buy illegal weapons for Rs 5,000 each and then sell them to unknown persons for Rs 10,000, the officer said. Further, it emerged that Aamir was linked with one Prem Singh in Khurja, Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh police arrested Prem Singh and sealed the illegal firearms manufacturing factory near Bulandshahr, the official said.
