New Delhi, May 11 (). Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. The meeting focused on some demands related to the state.
Sources said the meeting comes just days after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Patnaik in Bhubaneswar amid speculation about strengthening the opposition front for the Lok Sabha polls.
Patnaik, however, denied any political overtones in the meeting.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Patnaik said, “I have not discussed anything in this regard (politics) with the Prime Minister.” As far as I am concerned, there is no possibility of BJD joining the Third Front as of now.
It has always been our principle to go it alone in assembly and parliamentary elections, he said.
Giving some details about the meeting, Patnaik said: I have just met the Prime Minister. The subject of discussion was mainly about the demands of Odisha, which include an International Airport – Shri Jagannath International Airport, which we want to set up in Puri.
