New Delhi, May 24 (). A DTC cluster bus lost control in Delhi’s New Friends Colony area, ramming into five vehicles. Six people were injured in the accident, out of which one died. The police gave this information on Wednesday.
The accident took place around 4:45 pm when the bus going from Nehru Place to Maharani Bagh lost control and rammed into several vehicles. One person died in the accident, while five others were injured, out of which the condition of two is said to be serious. The deceased youth has not been identified yet.
A PCR call regarding the accident was received following which a police team was rushed to the spot, said a senior police officer.
Eyewitnesses said that there was chaos on the road after the bus lost control. The bus collided with a car, a three-wheeler, a scooter and other vehicles. The three-wheeler driver was declared brought dead at Holy Family Hospital.
Scooter rider Mohd Saqid had a leg amputated, while two other injured have been identified as Sajdul Islam (doctor by profession) and Kalimuddin, who are undergoing treatment.
Police have started raids to arrest the bus driver who fled from the spot after the accident. The official said that the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. Police is trying to ascertain whether it was the driver’s fault or there was some technical snag. A case has been registered at the IPC New Friends Colony police station.
