Due to debris coming in Chada of Uttarakhand, there was a long jam on both sides of the Badrinath Highway.

Chamoli, 30 April (). The Badrinath highway has been blocked due to debris coming in Chada near Chamoli after the rains. There is a long queue of vehicles on the road. On the other hand, the police-administration team that reached the spot on information is busy in opening the highway. The route has been diverted by the police and stopped at Nandprayag and Birhi.

Small vehicles are being made to travel through an alternate route. The work of opening the road is going on. Police and administration team is present on the spot. Movement of small vehicles is being done through Kota Motorway.

It rained heavily in Chamoli district last night, due to which the highway was blocked. It is being told that cutting work is going on on the route under the all-weather road project. Due to which debris is falling from the hill even in light rain. On the other hand, after Badrinath was disrupted, the police-administration has stopped large vehicles going to and from Badrinath at Nandprayag and Birhi. While movement of small vehicles is being made through alternative route from Nandprayag, Sakkot Kothiyalsain.

Chamoli Kotwali in-charge Inspector Kuldeep Singh Rawat told that two machines have been installed since morning to open the road through NH, the road will be opened soon.

Thousands of devotees are reaching Chardham Yatra these days. But due to the negligence of NH and district administration, the road widening work has been left half incomplete during the Yatra period. Due to which the devotees are facing a lot of problems.
