Bangalore, May 31 (). Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said that a decision on implementing the promises made by the Congress ahead of the assembly elections will be taken in the cabinet meeting to be held on Friday (June 2).
Addressing reporters after holding marathon meetings with all ministers and bureaucrats on the schemes, Siddaramaiah said officials from finance and other departments made a presentation on the five guarantees.
During the presentation, all the details of the proposals and the financial aspects of implementation were explained, Siddaramaiah told the media. We are going to discuss on Friday and take a decision. We will let you know about the decisions taken.
The Chief Minister further said that however, the government has decided to implement all the five guarantees as promised before the elections.
They will definitely be implemented, he said. Let BJP fulfill its promises and don’t care about our assurances. We’ll do it by all means. We have done it before and we will do it now.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Criticizing the BJP, Shivakumar said that the party had promised to transfer Rs 15 lakh.
It (BJP) failed to do so, but no one is talking about it, he said. BJP did not fulfill 550 assurances out of 600 promises made. But former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and the media are not talking about him. We are trying to implement the assurances systematically.
Shivakumar said, the Finance Department has given four to five options to the government. The officials have been asked to rework the details and present it during the cabinet meeting. We will study all the options and discuss in the cabinet.
Congress Rs 2,000 to each female head of household under Griha Laxmi Yojana, Rs 3,000 allowance to unemployed graduates and Rs 1,500 allowance to unemployed diploma holders for two years under Yuva Nidhi, free bus travel for women, free up to 200 units promised electricity.
Also, under the Anna Bhagya scheme, 10 kg of free rice will be given to each member of the BPL family.
