New Delhi, May 3 (). The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested former Wapcos CMD Rajinder Kumar Gupta and his son in a disproportionate assets case.
During the raid and search operation, the investigating agency recovered Rs 38.38 crore.
Out of the total seizures so far, Rs 20 crore in cash was seized on Tuesday.
According to a senior CBI official, a case was registered against Gupta and his family members on charges of having disproportionate assets.
Searches were conducted at residential and business premises of the accused at 19 locations in Delhi, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Sonipat and Ghaziabad.
After retirement, Gupta opened a consultancy firm in Delhi. The alleged immovable properties of the accused include flats, commercial properties and a farmhouse in Delhi, Gurugram, Panchkula, Sonipat and Chandigarh.
