Agra (UP), May 23 (). A case of rape and criminal intimidation has been registered against currently jailed former SP MLA Rameshwar Yadav.
The FIR has been registered on the complaint of a 25-year-old Dalit woman, who was allegedly raped by the former SP MLA four years ago on the pretext of giving her a job.
ASP Dhananjay Singh Kushwaha said, the victim claimed that Rameshwar raped her while her younger brother Jogendra Yadav assaulted her. Sections 376, 354-B, 323, 504, 506 of the IPC as well as sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act were added to the FIR.
In her complaint lodged at Jaithara police station in Etah district, the woman claimed that she met Rameshwar at his residence on February 2, 2019, and requested for a job.
The victim said, he had promised me a post as a class IV employee in the education department. Initially, I was asked to work as a domestic help at their house. I agreed to it in the hope of getting a job. A day later, Rameshwar attacked me while I was working and dragged me to his room. He raped me and then threatened to kill me if I told my family members.
Four days later, I narrated the whole incident to Rameshwar’s brother Jogendra. Instead of helping, he brutally beat me up and stripped me naked. I somehow managed to save my life and mustered up the courage to file a police complaint against the former MLA and his brother.
There are over 70 cases pending against Rameshwar and Jogendra. Most of these have been registered in the last five years.
