Bhubaneswar: Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, is set to participate in the 84th annual session of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC) taking place here from November 7 to 10. Odisha Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan informed reporters on Thursday that the event will host 3,500 delegates from across the country, including engineers, technical experts, and other stakeholders. As in previous years, Gadkari’s attendance at this year’s conference is assured. This marks the sixth time Odisha has hosted this national event, following years 1954, 1982, 1994, 2005, and 2015.
The IRC serves as a leading national platform for sharing knowledge and discussing road construction, maintenance, and transport infrastructure, including advancements in technology, equipment, research, planning, finance, taxation, and policy. The annual conference will also include a technical exhibition highlighting the latest advancements in road infrastructure and technology, showcasing innovative solutions, products, and services related to road construction, maintenance, and safety.
