The Helping Hands Mela presents a wide variety of products, such as handcrafted jewellery, woven fabrics, home linen, stationery, Diwali-themed items including Diyas and festive decorations, as well as a range of locally made delicacies and accessories. Proceeds from the Mela will directly benefit the causes supported by the participating NGOs, aiding in the upliftment of the communities they serve. Aloka Majumdar, MD & Head of Sustainability at HSBC India, expressed, “At HSBC, we prioritize communities in everything we do. The Helping Hands Mela has become a beloved tradition, enabling us to celebrate the festival of lights while making a significant impact.

We are proud to offer a platform for NGOs and artisans to present their work and engage with a broader audience. We invite our customers, visitors, and employees to join us in this joyful initiative and embody the true spirit of Diwali.” The Helping Hands Mela exemplifies HSBC’s commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and community empowerment. It bridges the gap between NGOs, artisans, and patrons, preserving traditional crafts while fostering a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone. HSBC India’s approach to supporting sustainable economic growth emphasizes Community Investment (CSR initiatives), Sustainable Operations, Sustainable Finance, and Sustainability Risk, delivered through various programs, collaborations, and partnerships.
