Jammu, March 31 (). Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday chaired the 44th Board meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) to discuss various aspects of the Yatra-2023, an official statement said.
The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir is the ex-officio chairman of the SASB. The ongoing works and future projects for smooth and hassle free pilgrimage were discussed in the meeting.
Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor and SASB CEO Mandeep K. Bhandari made a detailed presentation and briefed the Board on various aspects of Amarnathji Yatra-2023, including registration for Yatra, provision of helicopter services, service providers, Yatra camps, Langar/NGO services, insurance for Yatris/Service Providers covers etc.
He also presented an action taken report on the decisions taken in the previous board meetings, the statement said. Chief Engineer, Border Roads Organization (BRO) briefed the meeting about the progress of maintenance, restoration and development works of the yatra track.
Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Raj Kumar Goel, DGP Dilbag Singh, Special Director General, CID, RR Swain, ADGP, Jammu, Mukesh Singh, Divisional Commissioner, Secretary, Additional CEO, SASB and Civil Administration, SASB, Other senior officers of Police and Army also attended the meeting in person and through virtual mode.
The Himalayan Cave Temple Yatra in Anantnag district is organized every year. Devotees visit the cave temple for darshan of the stable structure of ice, considered by devotees as a symbol of the powers of Lord Shiva.
