Kantara Chapter 1 has reached a remarkable ₹335 crore in worldwide box office earnings within just four days, breaking records and captivating audiences. Released in theaters on October 2, the film has been praised by both fans and critics for its exceptional storytelling and filmmaking. On its opening day, the film generated ₹60 crore, surpassing its competitors, Chhaava and Saiyaara. The initial weekend saw impressive net collections of ₹88 crore, with expectations of further record-breaking performance. A slight dip occurred on the second day, with ₹65 crore collected, but Saturday’s earnings rebounded with a 26% increase, totaling ₹82 crore in India. By the end of day three, the film’s worldwide earnings reached ₹235 crore.

The fourth day added ₹61.5 crore to the Indian net, bringing the four-day total to ₹232.75 crore. The day-wise breakdown for India is as follows: Day 1: ₹61.85 crore, Day 2: ₹54.4 crore, Day 3: ₹55 crore, Day 4: ₹61.5 crore. The film’s collection continues to grow, fueled by positive word of mouth. Kantara Chapter 1’s success is not only reflected in its box office numbers but also in its widespread appeal, having been released in seven languages: English, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada. Its myth-inspired narrative, emotional depth, impressive sets, stunning special effects, and beautiful locations have contributed to its unique pan-Indian essence, a quality that has been lacking in many recent films.
