Hubli (Karnataka), May 10 (). Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai along with his family performed a special puja at the Anjaneya (Hanuman) temple in Ashok Nagar ahead of casting his vote for the assembly elections on Wednesday.
He was accompanied by his son Bharat and daughter Aditi. Chief Minister Bommai went around the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and was seen immersed in prayer.
The chief minister is contesting from Shiggaon seat in Haveri district. The party’s national president JP Nadda has indicated that Bommai will again be the chief minister if the BJP comes to power.
While filing nominations and during public campaigning, Chief Minister Bommai had claimed that voters would cast their vote not only to elect an MLA but also to elect the Chief Minister.
Although the entire party, including the CM himself, has sought votes in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party entered the elections under collective leadership.
Meanwhile, Muzrai, Haj and Waqf Minister Shashikala Jolle and her husband Chikkodi parliamentary seat MP Annasaheb Jolle cast their votes at Yaksamba town in Belagavi district.
His daughter Priya Jole and son Basavprasad Jole also exercised their franchise.
