Ansari, a five-time MLA, was accused of killing a Congress leader in 1991.
On August 3, 1991, Awadhesh Rai, brother of Congress leader and former MLA Ajay Rai, was shot dead outside his house in Varanasi.
The trial was delayed due to the missing case diary.
Ansari has been convicted in several criminal cases in the past.
The Varanasi MP MLA court, which concluded the hearing after arguments on May 19, reserved its order till June 5.
Ansari is already serving a 10-year sentence in another case of kidnapping and murder.
He was indicted in April.
