Mumbai, April 29 (). Officials of Mumbai Customs have recovered cocaine worth Rs 10 lakh from two people, including a Nigerian national, which was kept hidden in slippers.
A senior customs official said that the accused have been involved in some cases in the past as well.
Based on intelligence inputs, SIIB/Courier Cell and APSC, Mumbai recovered 99 grams of cocaine, valued at around Rs 10 lakh, concealed in three pairs of slippers, the official said. In further action a Nigerian national has been arrested.
The officer said that it is clear that the accused has violated Section 8 of the NDPS Act and committed offenses punishable under Sections 21, 23 and 29 of the NDPS Act. He has been arrested.
Further investigation is on in the matter.
