Tejashwi YadavNew Delhi: An opinion poll conducted by JVC Poll has suggested that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Janata Dal (United), is poised to maintain its power in the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. The survey indicates that the NDA is likely to win between 120 and 140 seats in the 243-member Bihar assembly, while the Mahagathbandhan (MGB) is projected to secure 93 to 112 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to emerge as the largest party, with an anticipated 70 to 81 seats. The poll forecasts that JD(U) may achieve 42 to 48 seats, LJP (RV) between 5 and 7, HAM(S) 2, and RLM 1 to 2.
Within the Mahagathbandhan, the RJD could garner 69 to 78 seats, Congress between 9 and 17, CPI(ML) 12 to 14, CPI 1, and CPM 1 to 2. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party is expected to secure only one seat. Additionally, AIMIM, BSP, and others are projected to obtain 8 to 10 seats. According to the JVC Poll, Tejashwi Yadav is the top choice for the chief ministerial position, receiving 33 percent support, followed by Nitish Kumar with 29 percent. Chirag Paswan and Prashant Kishor each have 10 percent support, while Bihar’s deputy chief minister Samrat Chaudhary has 9 percent. Only 4 percent favor another candidate from the BJP, and 5 percent prefer a different candidate from the Mahagathbandhan.
