Agra (UP), March 31 (). About half a dozen foreign tourists were injured in the attack of bees on the Fatehpur Sikri monument.
The incident is of Thursday afternoon. The injured tourists were taken to the primary health center in Fatehpur Sikri, where they were discharged after first aid.
These foreigners were in a group, mostly tourists from France, and were on their way from Agra Gate to Diwan-e-Aam in Fatehpur Sikri, said Deepak Kumar, conservation assistant at the Archaeological Survey of India.
The attack of bees on the monument of Fatehpur Sikri, located 40 km from Agra city towards the border of Rajasthan, is not a new thing.
The beehives are common on the upper turn of the Buland Darwaza and on the arches of the Shahi Jama Masjid at Fatehpur Sikri.
We are making a detailed plan to deal with the problem of proliferation of beehives in the monuments, said an ASI official.
