New Delhi, May 23 (). An inmate of Delhi’s Tihar Jail committed suicide inside the jail premises. An official gave this information on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Javed.
Earlier on Monday, a Delhi court convicted Javed under sections 392, 397 and others.
After conviction, he was brought to Central Jail No. 8/9, said a senior jail official. He committed suicide by hanging himself in the toilet area of the Mulhija prisoners’ enclosure at around 5 pm.
All concerned persons have been informed and a judicial magisterial inquiry is underway.
